An earlier study already made the connection between unplanned movements and weight loss: small things like running to catch a bus can burn an extra 300 calories daily. Of course, formal exercise is still much better for your heart — and your waistline — but it's good to know that something as easy as taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking farther away can still improve your health. And luckily for the non-gym-lovers out there, we've got tips on how to shed pounds while sitting at your desk, or even while watching that Housewives marathon on TV.
